Professional Bio
Dr. Alex Kelman brings a collaborative, evidence-based, data-driven approach to psychotherapy, clinical supervision, and consulting. Across all domains, he emphasizes compassion, curiosity, and academic rigor to help clients, supervisees, and organizations navigate complex psychological and systemic challenges.
Whether in therapy, supervision, or consultation, his approach is anchored in evidence and relational attunement, fostering insight, empowerment, and practical solutions for real-world challenges.​​
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Kelman is an avid yogi and certified yoga instructor and has practiced for over twenty years. He also enjoys spending time outdoors and exploring new places with his partner and their two dogs.
Dr. Kelman is an Associate Clinical Professor in the UCLA Department of Psychology, Attending Psychologist in the UCLA Division of Population Behavioral Health, Science Advisor at Canopie, and former Vice President, Clinical Development and Head of Therapies at Cybin.

Dr. Kelman completed his undergraduate education at the University of Virginia (2003-2007), his master's and PhD at Palo Alto University (2011-2016), and his postdoctoral fellowship at USC UCEDD/Children's Hospital Los Angeles (2016-2018). During his postdoctoral fellowship, Dr. Kelman was also a fellow in the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) program (2016-2018).
